The Engineering Faculty, which is the core of our university, is the Mining Engineering School founded in 1924. This institution has been named as Zonguldak Engineering Faculty by being connected to the Rectorate of Hacettepe University with the Law No. 2809 passing through the stages of Mining Profession and Senior Sergeant School, Mining Technical School and Engineering Architecture Academy respectively and it has been published in the Official Gazette dated 11.07.1992 and numbered 21281, Zonguldak Karaelmas University was established with the material. The name of Zonguldak Karaelmas University has been changed to "Bülent Ecevit University" in accordance with Article 18 of the Law No. 6287 published in the Official Gazette No. 28261 dated 11.04.2012.
Established in an active region in the Western Black Sea Region, Our University continues education and training with its 13 provinces, 3 institutes, 5 colleges, 7 vocational schools and 1 State Conservatory together with Zonguldak province and surrounding provinces.
Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Engineering; It is the continuation of Zonguldak Mining Engineer Faculty which was opened in 1924 and reached to 1961 with different names, contents and some breaks. In our faculty; Mining Engineering Department with 22 academic staff, Mechanical Engineering Department with 24 academic staff, Geomatic Engineering Department with 24 academic staff, Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department with 15 academic staff, Civil Engineering Department with 19 academic staff, Environmental Engineering Department with 18 academic staff, The Department of Geological Engineering maintains education and training activities with 7 academic staffs, Biomedical Engineering with 6 academic staff, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering with 13 academic staff, Food Engineering Department with 5 academic staff and Computer Engineering Department with 5 academic staff.
In addition, there are 1 academic staff in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, and 1 academic staff in the Department of Industrial Engineering in our faculty.
Within the scope of accreditation studies, Madem Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geomatics Engineering and Electrical-Electronics Engineering departments were accredited by MÜDEK and ENAEE. In addition, the Department of Civil Engineering has applied for accreditation and will be assessed in 2017.
